Key Fob Battery replace message

Hello guys!
I recently replace 2 CR2025 on my 2013 E550 4Matic which I bought from Target. Do I need to reset the message after replaced the battery, It's irritating me that I have to press OK every time the "Replace Key Fob Battery" message appeared.

I am not aware of having to reset anything once the battery is replaced. You may have a problem not associated with the key or battery. Try using your other key with a fresh battery and leave the other key in the house.

The message has always gone away for me after the next startup. You may want to check the voltage on the 'new' battery that you put it. Just to be sure it's not stale.

I always leave one at the house, I had tried both alone and the message had always there. I guess I have to get the battery from Benz dealer.

As long as it's a CR2025 it should have the same volt out put?

batteries lose voltage over time. It could be an old battery that has been sitting on the shelf at Target. Just something to rule out if you have a multimeter to check.

Get a multimeter and check. New they are anywhere from 3.25-3.31 volts. I get the message once they hit 3.06 or below. You can also buy them on Amazon or Ebay in 5 or 10 packs or more.

That's close to what I have seen also. One time I recall the warning came on when the battery was at 2.99v. Key was still working fine. Sometimes I get lazy and see how long they will last before the car doesn't respond; other times the message drives me crazy and I give in after a few warnings.

If problem still exists after replacing batteries id suggest to check the Aux battery condition.

I had that problem happen to me. I replaced my key fob battery but the message didn't go away for like a week. I took the battery out of the key fob and put it back in (same battery) and the message stopped appearing. I dunno if this solution will work for you, but it worked for me.

Just an update to this matter. I ended up order another new sets of battery from Amazon and no message after replaced the new batteries. This is mean that the previous new battery that I bought is losing its voltage after long period on the shelf like "Thefisch" had said in his reply.

Agree with the suggestion to measure voltage of the "new" battery and make sure it is putting out the full voltage. I tried to be smart and keep extra batteries in the house so as to be prepared, but found several that just lost its charge while storing. Once you put in a "fresh" battery the message goes away.

I noticed that no name/cheap batteries gave me the same problem, until I used a quality battery
