My local Mercedes of Coconut Creek here in Ft. lauderdale, FL area quoted me $1457 for 60k Service B, is that a good price?

They said this will involve more than the regular Service B due to the service they have to do to the spark plugs to get at all of them, ie removing manifold to get to 3 of them.

But the price still seems high. What else do they do at this 60k version of the Service B that makes it more than a regular Service B, and how much should a regular Service B cost?

They quoted me $209 for an alignment, as I just bought new tires, that sounds more down to earth to me.

Anyone else get quotes for a 60K service?

and
https://slickdeals.net/f/10970475-me...src=SiteSearch
may help you get some discount.

On the other hand:
1. I believe vehicles under 80k miles are eligible for getting 3 pack service package for discounted price. Check with the warranty department of your dealer to get such price.
2. Your manual should tell you the list of things needed for 60k miles Service B..!
3. Alignment is 200$ at Northlake Mercedes, Charlotte, NC; I'm having my strut replaced on the right side.

I'm an illiterate when it comes to mechanics of the car, try this thread if you want DIY, did the dealer mean air-intake hoses or the manifold itself?
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...2014-e350.html
Good Luck.

That's overpriced, have always referred Friends to the dealership I know the GM, part owner and former service department manager who runs Renntech. If you want I can send info and tell them I sent you. My Benz is no where near 60k. But friends have gone same service never been charged those prices. The dealership I'm talking about is in south Florida also

A few years ago, the 60k service on my 2011 was quoted at about $1,200. That included a B service $360), brake fluid ($120) and plugs ($600). So I am not shocked by your price. But the a la carte pricing did convince me to get a prepaid maintenance 3 pack for about $1,150 at the time. So the next two services were essentially free. Same dealer also had a $100 alignment coupon which came in handy when it came time for new tires.

I was quoted $1200 for the 60k service. If your car is 2012 or newer, that service includes new plugs which is 1/2 the cost of the service. Buy a 3 pack maintenance plan. By the time you do your 70,000 mile service you’ll be ahead of the curve.

The issue is with direct injection 2012+, they have to remove in the intake manifold to get at the plugs as they went to a 60 degree engine instead of the 90 degree one in the M272 which was 2010-2011. For those years the plug changes were simple. They also went to a multi spark system so the plugs can end up firing up to 4 times per cycle so you got the plugs doing more work than the old ones so it's every 60k instead of on some other cars where it can be 100-120k. Best bet is to buy the 3 maintenance pack. There's a bit of other things done at 80k too, I think that's the transmission fluid. Best bang for the buck is at the 60k mark as there's major maintenance at 60 and 80k. It's the same price no matter what mileage you're at, just covers the next 3 maintenance intervals.

I was there yesterday for first time.. checking out 2015 E350/E400. I never used a dealer for service, but my MB mechanic told me I have to get codes form a dealer for steering wheel (it does not lock and has not started) I am closer to the dealer in Pompano Beach where i bought this 2010 E550, so will get quotes from them and Coco Creek if they will give it to me without looking at it. It appears with a 2014 you'd still be under warranty. No?

Unfortunately my warranty expired last July as this was an early model 2014 that actually came out in 2013.

I had my 60,000 mile B service done today on my 2012 E350. It’s the Direct Injection engine that makes this a very expensive service. But as I suggested earlier, the way to go is a 3 pack maintainable plan. I know I’ve already paid for service but it was nice to hear “here you go” without being asked to pay for anything.

+1 for Joe and Star Garage.
Taken my E500 there for service and these guys are very knowledgeable, honest and reasonably priced.
The shop stays very busy from word of mouth.

UPDATE: 60K Service Completed at Mercedes Finally!

So here is what happened. I got the 60K service at Mercedes Benz of Coconut Creek, my car only has 56k miles on it, but they told me both my hydraulic motor mounts "should" be replaced as well as my transmission mounts.I know dealers tend to be over zealous about what you should have fixed and I am skeptical about this $1600 motor mount repair so I declined any repairs to any mounts. Their report stated my brakes were at 7mm and 8mm left on them and suggested they are near the end, not sure if that is correct, or how many mm before I have to replace them.

They also wanted me to pay over $350 to have a new 2 year Mercedes battery installed because they said my battery failed some test, which I also balked at. I can get a decent battery for less elsewhere and put it in cheaper myself right? Is there any esoteric trick I need to know to install my own battery, or could I ruin a computer by trying to do so myself? If anyone knows please let me know.

While i was in there I had the service writer print out a summary of all service ever done to my car by previous owner, and saw numerous car washes, and that he also had bought a prepaid maintenance 3 pack for 10k service and 2 others. ! Apparently they have a sign at our dealer that says free car washes are only for MB owners who are paying to have a service performed on their car.

Thanks to raja777m for mentioning the 3 pack, that saved me some serious cash on future milestone services. i had also gotten from Mercedes Benz web site $130 off coupon for Winter Maintenance special if I used it by Feb 2/28. But while I was in there, my service write detailed how the 3 pack maintenance service pack would break down compared to paying full price for the 60k, 70k, and 80k service in today's dollars:

60k Service: $1562
70k Service: $1360
80K Service: $1183

Total if you paid for the above services today: $4105

Total Quote for 3 pre-paid services was $2095! That was too good a deal to pass up and it is good at all MB dealers nationwide. I could not use the $130 toward the prepaid plan, but so what the total amount I saved more than makes up for it. Also, strangely enough, the pre-paid plans they give you include free windshield wipers, whereas if I just paid the $1562 cash for the 60K service, they would not be included! Can't figure out that logic.

I also paid $250 for the wheel alignment, which is double what most tire centers charge for alignment, so that is another reason I did not want to pay triple for a new battery.

Glad it is all finally over, and I confirmed with them that yes you can go one year and 10,000 miles between oil changes as opposed to toher cars with 6 months/6,000 miles, if you use Mobil One because he said the engines have better oil filters among other things.

BTW Durand and Bahnstormer, thanks for the Star Garage recommendation, I have seen them, and will also check them out. For 20 years I have also taken my Lexus vehicles to Carl's Sunoco in Margate at Sample Rd and Holiday Springs Dr across from MCDonald's. They too are reasonable, very knowledgeable, and honest.

.
Glad that worked out for you.
I believe if you use full synthetic oil, 10k miles is the way to go.
I have two full synthetic oil changes for free from Nissan dealer, where I purchased the vehicle from.
I'm 7k miles into my first free service. I'm planning to wait until 9k and then make an appointment.

Under warranty, my transfer case and transmission were rebuilt around 50k, so, I don't need tranny fluid change or other fluids for now.
So, I'm confused whether to go for 3-pack service packs (currently at 53k) or just wait till 'spring cleaning' coupons which gives us 100-130$ off of 200$ or more service coupons.

I can use multiple coupons on multiple accounts and separate visits..!

I need to check the manual for next brake bleed visit, spark plugs Change etc.

Not sure where you got that quote from. If you had bought from Jeff Jackson or one of the other extended warranty/pre-paid maintenance dealers on this forum, you would've paid $1400 for a 3 pack of pre-paid maintenance.

Many folks her eon the forum recommend Jeff Jackson from a Mercedes dealer in KY for the best price, as he sells the warranties and the prepaid service plan cat a discount. This product is a proft item for the dealers, so you are likely to see a range of pricing. Also keep in mind your engine may or may not require that super expensive $700 spark plug job like mine did. If not, then your price will be lower than mine.

Wish I head heard of Jeff Jackson before I bought mine people say he is way cheaper, but here is his email address and the dealer web site as well. jjackson@TafelMotors.com.

Please let us know what you price you get form him, this will help others who are comparison shopping the the prepaid three pak service plans.

The difference is the M272 vs the M276. I believe on 2012+, that's the M276. The spark plugs still need to be changed, but are easier to change because you don't have to remove the intake manifold like the M276. There's also a transmission fluid changes at 80k on the M272.

Yes, post the quotes once you get them. I was under the impression that there's not that much room on the maintenance package like there is on the warranty.

That's what I paid for the three service pack which includes the 60k, 70k and 80k services needed for my 2014 E350. My dealer is MB of White Plains, NY. It is my understanding that any one of those 'large' services can cost $1200 to $1500 a la carte. Regarding alignments, the E350 is relatively simple, if you have a tire shop you trust, as I do, just use them for an alignment -- it should only cost $80 to $110.

Yeah pretty much any tire shop can do it, it's nothing special. Mostly they just set toe. I prefer getting the 3 year Goodyear warranty which is something like $179, but NTB, Firestone and other companies also offer either lifetime or 3-5 year alignment warranties. I think they rarely get a Mercedes so the upsell has been minimal with mine so far.

Not sure if you change your own light bulbs.... plugs are not much harder.

I paid $50 for iridium spark plugs, $40 for a torque wrench and it took me just over an hour to do my plugs.

While I had the engine cover off I changed the engine air filters which I think were $24 at FCP Euro.

You really can do this stuff with the most basic of tools and there are videos on youtube showing everything

Does anyone have a lead on good repair manuals for MBs? I am seeking that thread. Figure I am going to change out my serpentine belt before I have an issue.

There's no repair manual. It's called WIS or StarTek. You can get the knock off on eBay for around $10, just search for Mercedes WIS/EPC. Or you can pay $60 a day for the official Mercedes website where it's basically the same WIS and download as much as you can in 24 hours.

https://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/subscribe.jsp

As for the belt, I just changed out the tensioner, 2 pulleys and belt. It's still the M272 engine and mine had about 100k on it and the pulleys were starting to make a little noise. Rockauto has a kit for the W211, but strangely it doesn't apply to the W212, the parts are the same but the belt length is slightly different.
