Connecting a Laptop to W212 (2016)

My wife wants me to buy her a laptop. What features should I get in the laptop that will permit it to communicate with the Command system for internet access, preferably wirelessly?

I suppose an alternative is via USB, but I would like to use USB for power, instead

Can I get a laptop with Bluetooth to connect to the system like the cell phone?

I believe all better laptops of last decade do have Bluetooth and WIFI, so question is how the car allows communication?
MB is not up to date with adding cyber-gizmos to their cars, so this is the end you should check.

Haven't tried it on my MB, but I was able to load a bunch of contacts from my laptop using bluetooth to my old Toyota. But it's much easier to do via the phone now than it was 12 years ago. Nowadays I would think the bluetooth and wifi protocols on all laptops are the same. However, I am not sure your car will benefit from a laptop. What are you trying to do with the laptop with the car? Provide a data connection for comand?

Wife will bring it along to occupy her time while vacationing. I have a friend who I travel with for weekend Airgun Field Target tournaments. He uses a laptop in the car when I drive. I think he uses his cell as a WIFI hotspot for the laptop. But I wonder if the E350 Command (NTG5-NTG5.5) can be taught to be its own WIFI hotspot instead. I can ask him, but wanted to hear what others consider state of the art for a new laptop purchase.
