Blatant Dealer Ripoff or Normal Practice?
I took my car in for its 45k sched maintenance visit and I advised the rep that I had squeeking brakes for over a year (they replaced my front brakes last fall under warranty due to the same issue) and the problem still persists. Not looking for freebies I told him just that, maybe it could be some thing as simple as forgetting to lube the piston contact point or the caliper pins etc etc (simple fix). I understand what wear and tear is and I dont mind waiting for the brakes to wear down and replace them myself with a good set of akebonos, but due to principal and the fact that I bought a $60K+ car new; it shouldn't be making these noises. Especially when other E-Class cars don't.
They looked at it and said that the rear brakes are worn down to 25% of its life and should be replaced soon. So Im still stuck with the problem and I say ok and I drive off. When I took the car back from the dealer I noticed that they had left their copy of the service order (attached below) and it said that the cost to look at the brakes was $243.00 and the maint service was $644 (total of 877+tax). I got a copy of my actual invoice in the e-mail (see attached) and it said that the cost to look at the brakes =$0! and cost to buy 2 maintenance visits = $1128.87, they said normally this service 45k service costs 877+tax!
My question(s) is/are,
Is it normal to roll in the cost of looking at customer car issues into the service fee?
Should the problem be fixed under a manufacture bulletin?
Am I getting hosed?
Thanks in advance.

In US, all states have laws that each job above around $300 (that can change between states) has to be proposed and signed by customer.
I see you signed that option off.
Once you had your car at stealer - you got hosed , period.
