thinking of selling 2011 E550
It's been a great 4 years, but I'm contemplating moving on from my 2011 E550. I'm curious to get a sense of potential value from people who know these cars. I know what KBB says, but what do you think is realistic based on the following:
2011 E550 4MATIC
162k miles, 95% highway
diamond white natural brown leather interior
AMG rims, sport package, P1
air suspension (upgraded under warranty already)
I purchased the car CPO 4 years ago and have added 122k miles. Meticulously maintained by local Mercedes specialists, all service records available.
Car is in very good condition for it's age, no mechanical issues, a minor crack in one rear taillight and the lower honeycomb grill.
I'm confident she'll run strong for years to come, I'm just looking to change things up and go back to driving a manual transmission before they all disappear.
KBB says between 9.5-11.5k, what do you think is realistic?

I think KBB is right on. Glad to see you really used and enjoyed this car.

I sold my w212 MY11 E550 to family member. I had bought it used from the original owner. He barely drove it had really low miles it was his car to take wife out Friday nights and he was retired. I basically stole it. Paid him cash. He had bought it new. I drove the hell out of it for a year flipped it to my younger cousin made $1k off it. Sell it privately if you can.

My 2011 has 87k on it now and it's hard to believe it is worth less than $15k. Feels worth so much more than that. I agree that OP could probably get more via private sale - hopefully you'll find a motivated buyer or cousin.

I'm in the same situation with my 2010 E550. Car has all options other than night vision and rear seat entertainment.
Thought to trade my car in for a S-class but the trade-in value is so ridiculously low. KBB says $9.5k - $11.6kk with the 150 000 miles on the car. My miles are 85-90% highway meaning that the actual mileage comparing to a city car is only about 50000.
When I use 50 000 miles on the KBB estimator the trade-in value jumps to $16.7k - $19.0k.
But all that matters is the mileage on the car. Nobody cares if it is highway or city miles. For me this means I will keep the car and shed the extra $10k if I go with the S-class or anything else. No way I will give this car "for free" to anybody. I have taken very good care of the car and in my opinion it is worth close to that $20k but nobody will pay that for the high mileage it has, It will serve very nicely as my second driver whenever I get another vehicle.

I really enjoyed my 2010 E550 and there are no cars I can think of that would hold a candle to this model at those ridiculously low trade in prices. Best to just keep it and pass down. I have to say this 2014 E550 is every bit the same in terms of being a keeper. It is really well built.

162,000 miles cars are hard to sell (unless diesel) so don't get too exited.
I like to change cars every few years only to see new technology and since I am buying cheap, I sell cheap as well.
The best way to shop for new (used) car is to do it when you don't need another car.
Than to get rid of old one, I put it on ebay with $1 starting price and no reserve.

Thank everyone. I agree that the market value doesn't reflect the real value of the car as it's rock solid and gorgeous. I also think the NA V8 is bulletproof from what I read so it's a lower risk proposition for the long haul. Sadly I still owe payments on the car that are close to it's trade-in value...I should just be patient and hold for a while longer most likely...or find a really good deal on a GTI or something manual and fun and convince my wife that I need to keep it!

Just looked at the photos of your car in the Classifieds and someone's going to get a helluva deal on a great ride. For that kind of money you couldn't buy a nicer vehicle. GLWS.

Can be a tough pill to swallow sometimes........the cost of a MB after owning it a while........but the KBB is pretty good. You could always try auto trader, or whatever, to see what they're selling for, with those miles, for similar prices.......good luck to you.

2011 Mercedes E550 Cabriolet Sport
I have currently 182,000 miles and counting on my 2011 E550 convertible, Haha I’m probably going to keep it till this summer and trade it to the dealer for a GLE. Bought the 550 in 2016 with 40k miles on it, loved the car to death, but the tires and rims just kept costing me so much money and then the steering wheel column locked and that cost 3k so I’m about ready to let it go… hopefully I get the 8-10k trade in value
