Advice Please: Buying e550 2010, 2011, 2012
Hey all. I'm buying my first Mercedes and wanted to get some opinions and advice on a used e550. I have about $20k CAD budget, so that puts me into a 2010, 11, or 12 - depending on km driven.
Any advice on model years to stay away from? What to look for on one of these models? How many KM is too much? Warranties? etc...
Appreciate any of your input. Really looking forward to my new car!
Thank you!
John

From what I've read all three of those year E550s are fabulous and reliable cars.
The 2010 and 2011 models are naturally aspirated 5.4L V8s and in 2012 Mercedes switched engines to a 4.7L Bi-turbo V8, which has much greater tuning opportunities.
I don't think you could go wrong with a well preserved example in any of those years.

I had a great 2011 E550, and that was my first Benz at the time. Great car, drove solid......never had an issue.........however MB pissed me off a lot and so did the dealer.........but the car itself was a great ride, fast and comfy too.

2012 gets you the TTV8 and more updated comand along with color center cluster. If you're in it for the speed and/or considering the tune, the TTV8 would be the way to go. Some folks had bluetooth issues on early 2010 before MB implemented the feature. Watch out for faded wood if you're looking at the burl wood. All these years suffer from it.
