Steering wheel trim question!

Hi guys.

Before i start i am not English speaker. So please understanding my grammar or something else.

Now, i am driving 2012 e350 bluetec model

I want to change my car steering wheel trim.

This is NOT my car but i have same steering wheel now.

and I want to transfer to

This steering wheel trim. black to silver trim.

So, when i research i need to this steering trim like the silver.

Like this.

But the problem is I am NOT sure about the bottom of the trim

Because my car steering wheel is round type on the bottom but the silver steering wheel bottom is flat shape.

That is the reason I am confusing.

Do you guys think am I only buying the silver trim? or should i change the whole steering wheel?

thanks

2014 E550-sold 😩
It does appear that you would be able to swap trims, but the flat bottom steering wheel option probably is not going to work. Most people switch out their wheel completely for a different look. Don’t worry about your English. We understand all manors of car speak here.

I would not be in such a hurry to swap out that center spoke trim... I have the (code 314) Sport Leather Steering Wheel with Trim insert. I like the flat-bottom wheel, and especially the handsome Burled Walnut trim inserts top and bottom. But, that bright chrome spoke assembly casts one sunlight glare after another. It's very distracting while driving, because the glare seems to hit directly in the face/eyes, regardless of sun angle.

There's so much glare that I am thinking about removing the chrome trim and spraying it with a flat-clear lacquer to tone it down.

In retrospect, I wish this part were matt-finished chrome rather than shiny. Just another point to consider...
