headlight knob illuminated?
Hello ALL,
This is my first post. I am hoping to be able to contribute soon. However as a newbie and a first to the Benz family, I am loving my "previous enjoyed" E350 tremendously. I bought a used 2015 E350 with 34k miles from a dealer. It was a previously leased vehicle. It could have been a certified vehicle if the previous owner didn't have to rear side door repainted.
Anyway, I have my first question. The interior dashboard seems to light up every "nook and cranny" except for the the pictographs above the headlight knob. Just wondering if the "LEDs" burnt or that normal. Thanks --Xavier
Do those pictographs above the knob light up?

Mine looks the same. I think it is a defect, because, as you note, the entire interior lights up like a holiday tree, absent this area. It's on my list of warranty repair requests.
Maybe someone whose had this fixed will chime in.

Sorry to burst your bubble, folks, but there are no lights or LED's around the light switch on the W221 E Class cars. I'm not sure why, but that's the way they are.

Steve is correct. The only light to see those icons comes from the LED ambiant above. That’s it, so don’t seek any repair. Welcome to mbworld.

I wonder if I can replace it with the fully lighted switch assembly from my "lowly" 2001 C-Class? Just kidding, I guess...
