If you need service dept to change it for you, maybe a benz isn't for you. The blinker rate can be user changed.... Just saying, maybe read the manual.

It seems a little ironic you're making fun of someone else while failing to realize you're quoting a post that is from 2018.

I'm aware of the date. What i said pertains to any date. Alot of people want information fed to them. Definitely not making fun of, stating facts.

Where in the manual does it explain how to change the amount of flashes for the turn signal indicator? I have looked through both the MY14 operators manual and the digital operators manual and the only information I can find is that if you want to indicate briefly press the combination switch to the pressure point and the corresponding turn signal flashes 3 times and to indicate press the combination switch past the pressure point in the direction of the arrow. I don't see anything that says you can change the flashes to more than three,

I too would like to know how to change this! Always thought it was a dealer only update or if I had that tool to tap into the computer, which I don't.

To clarify...

If we are discussing the "lane change" blink feature, it is set at the factory to blink 3 times when activated at the pressure point.. Although I am open to learning anything new, this has been discussed on several MBWorld forums through the years, and I have not read anywhere of any way for an owner to change the number of blinks.

If we are discussing the "turn signal" feature, the turn signal will blink an infinite number of times until the car completes its turn, and the turn lever mechanically resets to off. As far as I am aware, this is not user adjustable, either.

Unless I read it wrong, I was was under the impression that armysoldier1073 was saying you can change the 3 blinks to what ever you wished and it was in the manual. Which after reading all the information regarding combo switch/turn signal I could not find anything stating you could.

Can the quick lane turn signal tap (3 flashes) be changed in STAR/DAS? Seems like this should be able to be configured but I am unable to find where in STAR to change this... Does anyone have any insight?

Thanks,
-Nigel

old post but no and yes lol
W212 connects via Xentry i believe rather than DAS but the parameter can be changed in Vediamo in the front SAM.

This subject has been discussed ad-nauseum... even been made fun of...

IMO, the next person who states that the "lane change" feature (3-flash) can be changed (to 5-flash or any other) will need to provide credible proof. "Should be'" "could be," etc., is not proof.

It can be on other cars.. Hyundai/Kia even give you the option in the cluster for 1, 3, 5, or 7 flashes.

In Mercedes I don't believe this to be the case, but I am not sure. As DFW noted, my W203 worked this way and most cars I've had in the past 10 years have also worked this way. It is a nice feature I would not want to go without anymore.

I did not say "should be" or "could be" but rather that it "can be" I have done this on cars from 2008 to 2017.

Here is your proof for the setting.

When you stated in your earlier post, "W212 connects via Xentry i believe rather than DAS but the parameter can be changed in Vediamo." it gave me no confidence that you knew with certainty what you were writing about. Thanks for the clarification.

So now, who will be the first to post a video of the "5-clicks?" (Going to the store to buy some popcorn...)

Only older vehicles connect with DAS where you do programming directly within that. Newer vehicles connect with XENTRY where you do programming with Vediamo. I know with certainty that it CAN be changed and provided a screenshot where the parameter is.

With the 212 there "may" be limited functioning still in the older DAS system but I don't actually have a 212 model to test. In either case you can program it in Vediamo easily on the "newer" vehicle models.
As you can see below DAS only has the 212 as a prototype why I say there should still be limited functions in that system.

And no I am not going to post a video proving the programming option that I already showed and have done.
If you do not have a mux, DAS and Vediamo then you will never get it done regardless.
