Fog lights won"t stay on

I have a 2011 E350 sport model. It has factory LED daytime running lights / fog lights. When I press the fog light switch the LED running lights turn off and the LED fog lights momentarily flash on but will not stay on. The dash indicator stays on indicating they are on, but they are not. When press the switch a second time, the running lights come back on and the dash indicator for fog lights turns off.Even if I hold the button, they will not stay on for more that a second or two.
Has anyone else experienced this issue. I'm thinking it might be a relay, but not sure where it is located. Or, maybe it is something else. I just bought the car a couple weeks ago so don't have any previous knowledge of problems..

Any thought or help is appreciated.
Harvey

Those are not fog lights. When you press the fog light switch walk around to the rear of your car and look at the tail lights. Your left tail light should be a brighter red than your right tail light. That, sir, is your fog light.
Those driving lights go out as designed to make it easier to navigate in the fog

There are two separate switches for the front and back fog lights (one above the other). Mine only has the front, the rear was an option.

I’m stumped. I have never seen this 2 switch combo. My 2010 had only the one fog light switch.

I attached a screen print from the car manual showing both switches.
(if it did it right)

The models with the four round lights at the bottom corners in front have separate fog lights, i.e. two of those round lights are DRL and the other two are fog lights.

If you have Bi-xenon lights the front does not have fog lights as the Bi-xenon doubles for that.

Ahh, okay. I had Bi-Xenon and those hockey stick LED’s. Even my W211 only had the rear fog light as well. To engage it you had to pull out the light switch.
