E350 coupe with high mileage - ok to buy? opinions wanted
I found a 2010 E350 coupe with 127k that looks perfect, but has the higher mileage. The CarFax show little service history before 81k - which is amazing to me that people lease cars yet do not do maintenance (at least not recorded)
what do I need to look for when test driving this? How many miles can someone expect out of a MB before its starts to be a money pit?
BTW, we just got 2014 C250 coupe and love it so much we are looking for a kind of computer car..so why not a less expensive MB?
any advice or comments welcome
tnx

Check the serial numbers for balance shaft issues. Those who fall for the issue sell dirt cheap and it is easy to get excited about the price.

It is not a high optioned car. No Keyless Go, or driver assist packages of any kind. Less to go wrong, I suppose, but not what a luxury car should have. You really need to get a mechanic to go through the car and prepare a full PPI. The dash pad hopefully isn't hiding a shrunken and cracked dash. That is the only time I see those dash pads being used. It is 9 years old after all.

yeah as much as I love the looks, and the dynamic seat option, my wife's 2014 C250 is much better optioned
the price was good too, for a second tool around car...but I agree, the 81k without maintenance is very bothersome.
Thanks guys...keep the comments coming if you have them

Have you sat in the car? Some people like the multicontour seats and others do not. That may make your decision before you go too far. The car does look sharp, I must admit.

Depends how strong are you inspection skills, you never know what car represents base on statistics.
With today's highly advanced scanners you can make simulated compression test and check running characteristics in minutes.
Lack of records could mean that PO was die-hard DIY and pampered the car in the garage, while I bought dealer-maintained car with whole bunch of records, where I found that technicians while working on car kinked hoses, bend fuel line clips and seem never replaced air filters on 160k miles.
inspect, inspect, inspect
that switch looks more like multi-contour than dynamic seats. Car datacard will show that.

Carpet likely covers cracks on dashboard. If that is the true - it would indicate the car was bake on sun a lot and I'd pass as I value MB paint job the most and peeling clear coat is not easy to deal with.

The Coupe is not the same platform as the W212 saloon, so only so much is shared. The E Class Coupe forum can be found at https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-c...brio-a207-141/
