Mercedes me app ?
Anyone is using it?
They don't list cost of the subscription and you have to call them. That usually is not good sign.
But my main question is how the engine start and door opening works?
I have single key for my newest car and spending $500 for spare is not appealing option, so I wonder if in emergency I could drive the car using the app, or is it for stationary engine start only?

For me, Mercedes Me worked well in locking and unlocking the car which I liked to play with on occasion.. I used the Mercedes Me "Send to Benz" function the most oftern and it worked very well to send destination address information to Comand. Much easier than manual destination entry into Comand..
Although my car build specifies "J8A DSM STAR1 FBS4 REMOTE STARTABLE," the option to remote start the car did not appear in the App, so did not work at all.
If you are able to start the engine without a key using the app, I doubt you can use the app to drive the car unless the key is operating and present with you.

I assume the car needs to be locked when using remote start for obvious reasons. You would then need to use the app to open it if that is allowed. Perhaps that is possible and you can drive away. I’m not sure.

I just signed up today for this service for my 2015 E400. No remote start feature appeared on the app for me. Once my 90 day free trial ends I wont be paying 500 for 2 yrs just to lock and unlock my doors. The service has no other bennies for me. I have no issue typing my gps designations in for the 2 or 3 times a year that I would even use gps. Please be true to what your needs are when deciding to keep it or not. just my 2cents.

I finally called the number.
The subscription is $280 a year and remote start is available for 2016 and newer models.
I use MBUSA "owners on line" for over a decade, mostly to get manuals, but looks like about 1 year old Mercedesme will give you the support only when you get the subscription.
The site took my newly acquired MB info, but will not verify the VIN without $$$.
The new money gouging is all we need to add to scamming us for money with SCN coding

As a retired product development manager, I would price these comfort services so that more people would subscribe to them, say $50 a year. 90% of all NEW Mercedes-Benzes are rented (leased) rather than purchased. So I suspect banking "Fast nickels is more desirable than slow Quarters" in this case.

Some of those benefits are insurance IMHO. Like automated call after accident.
But dealing with 110-120 F temperatures most of the summer - I really like remote start I have on my truck. Darn thing will start across Walmart parking lot and by the time we walk there, the interior is bearable.
Than my Ford Truck sends me monthly health reports, what seem even newest MB don't?
Shall I say that with Ford it is all free of charge?
