Head unit removal problem

Hi everyone.
I screwed up when removing my head unit by removing the screws completely, causing the locking brackets to fall behind the dash.
I managed to retrieve them using some wire and gaffer tape (btw thanks Mercedes for making them in alloy so that my magnet arm does not work).

Anywya - reseating them is equally challenging - looks like I need to remove the full lower dash.
Can anyone confirm before I start pulling the full car apart.

Feeling quite dumb right now - a simple job turned very complex!

Nic
