Preparing a W212 Wagon for 100-200K

Cheers all -

I'm getting closer to acquiring a 2011-2013 W212 Wagon for a second car. It won't be a daily driver, just a vehicle to use for long trips or big loads. I plan to put 5K miles a year on it maximum.

The selection is slim on the West Coast, I may end up buying a car without a clear maintenance paper trail. I will get a pre-purchase inspection of course, to look for as many issues as can be found.

I'm no stranger to German car ownership and the maintenance (+repairs) that come with it. On a car which may not have a clear maintenance history, what are the items to checklist for reliable operation from 100-200K miles? Any cooling system parts prone to failure? Perform a transmission flush right away? Preventative maintenance advice is what I'm looking for, while I still research the standard maintenance schedule.

Also, are the DI engines from 2012+ proving to be reliable for high mileages despite their increased complexity? Thanks....

Where are you located and what are you looking for? I'm thinking of possibly selling my 2013 E350 wagon. 34k miles, dealer maintained all paperwork.
Also on the west coast.

Cheers - Yours looks nicer than what I'm budgeted for, I'm looking at cars under 20K.

"Selection is slim" is very undefie word. Living in California and buying diesel MB, I was buying them in Texas, or on east coast. Always could find what I am looking for.
Than I am selling my W212 black sedan, 40+ mpg, high mileage but lovely car on ebay and no takers, even I put it for $14k.
So I can say "buyers are slim"
