I'm a new member and I own 2011 E5504M.
Swapped new steering wheel and only then discovered that it's lacking lane assist vibration motor. Does anybody have any ideas, where to solder pins and where to hide a motor? Airbag looks so tight that I can't imagine, where it can fit?
Thanks for replays and sorry for my english.
Are you sure you really want that lane assist vibrator??
With the car electric steering rack, that fonction keeps grabbing your steering wheel while you are trying to drive. It's the first thing I disabled!!
If you like customizing go build the "active blind spot": it can really saves you troubles and works mostly well.
The lane keep assist steering wheel vibration motor does not actively steer like your car, @CaliBenzDriver . You have the driver assist package. What he's talking about is Lane Track package and all it does is vibrate the wheel when it detects you've drifted out of the lane, but it does not at all correct it.
I still share your sentiment.. OP, you actually want this? Wish I could give you mine. In my 2016 it vibrates so intensely that it actually would cause a buzz from the steering column, which was super annoying so I disabled it not long after buying the car. I will never use it again.
