Hello guys,
I have a small question, I usually see Lexus from early 2000's with blueish tint on their windows and rear window. Is that something the glass is made like that or it is actually a blue color tint?
I have a metallic silver which looks like sky color depending on the time of the day, I was thinking to go with blue'ish tint color. Please advice.here are some pics for reference, and the pics won't do the justice.
1. Is that illegal or people just don't like them?
2. Is that even possible now a days or is that considered old fashioned or something?
Not sure about the laws back then, but that was likely factory 'tint'. SUV's in the 2nd row and back usually come with tinted factory glass. You might want to check with your local tint shops and see if the mirrored look is legal and what your options are.
I had tinting applied recently for the upper windshield (5" band is legal most states).
None of the places I spoke with carry the silver-metallic tints of old. Just smoky tints anymore.
I have a 2-foot roll of metallic silver tint to apply inside windshields to reflect HUD displays. Took forever to find a shop with scraps filed away, so I guard this stuff like gold.
generally it is the glass, like a lot of older euro spec MB and BMWs used to have, I always thought those were best looking glass.
The only thing i ever found close was AIR 80 - LLumar Blue, not sure if its made anymore or where to find an installer.
