Urgent: Transmission help please! (no gear selection)
I'm looking for some help. My wifes car had a the common transfer case bearing going in her 2011 e350 4matic wagon, so I opted to buy a used transmission/ transfer case assembly and replace the entire assemly with a low milage unit from a salvage yard. I got the old transmisson out and the new one it, topped it with the proper fluid and I went to cycle the gears in the process of doing the transmission fluid fill and no gear selection. Wont go out of park!!
I am now reading that the TCM is vin matched with the origianl car. What to i need to do and what am I in for. I dont mind pulling the the valve body and TCM from the orignal transmission and putting it in the replacement but will that fix the problem or is there more that is involved. Any help would be much appriciated
