E class W212 withe M276 engine fuel consumption
Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I wanna to buy a W212 E 350 CGI with the M276. Could you please tell me if there is any difference in smoothness and fuel consumption with the M274 Evo. What are the figures of fuel consumption you'are making withe this engine. Thanks.

From what I’ve read, the reliability of the W212 is heads and shoulders above the W211. As far as the engine goes the only two issues I’ve seen are related to service and service costs. Apparently replacing the spark plugs requires removal of the intake manifold and due to the direct injection the valves are prone to carbon buildup that requires the valves to be cleaned which I’ve heard should be done while the intake manifold is off anyway for the spark plugs.
In short I think it’s a great engine with lots of power and great mileage for the size car but unless you can do the maintenance yourself it can be a little pricy.
