Installing my first sub and amp
Recently bought my first MB, an E-class 2015 model.
I've got a couple of questions regarding installation of subwoofer and amp that I hope you guys can help me with:
1. Can I connect my amp from the secondary battery in the trunk? (Is it strong enough etc)
2. My amp has a "high" input, and I was thinking I could go with an High-Low converter. Would I just tap into +/- on the rear speakers?
3. Where should I connect my remote wire? One of the fuses? Which one?
4. Anything else I need to worry about regarding the original audio system? I just want to add a subwoofer to the stock system.
5. Off topic, but: There's not a way to get keyless start on this model, right? ( )
Thinking of just the start button instead of having to put the key in the ignition.
I've tried reading the posts already made in the forum, and i'm totally new to this, so excuse my questions and confusion.
Cheers!
/ Daniel
My setup is:
2x12'' Subs in a ported box (https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...JBL-P1222.html) --> 2 x JBL p1222
Ground Zero 1200w Amp (https://www.ground-zero-audio.com/en...ia-1-1000dxii/) <-- I think this is the one
High-Low Converter (https://www.biltema.no/en-no/car---m...ter-2000035005)

1) I would not, run the proper gauge power wire for your amp needs to the main batter, with a fuse or breaker
2) always sounds like garbage. See my thread on how to tap the factory pre-amp signal.
3) I think i used the cigarette lighter, but forgot now
4) 2x12" will far overpower the rest of the stock system. It's ridiculous. I thought people stopped doing that much speaker in the 90s.
5) If your car didn't come with Keyless Go option, it's nearly impossible or at least cost prohibitive to add it. Many components involved, all over the vehicle, not to mention someone who really knows how to us a Mercedes STAR computer to active the addition of those parts.
