Cooling fan running at high speed non stop
Hi Gang,
My CPO 2015 E400 wagon developed a new problem on Saturday. After starting the car, around 2 minutes later the cooling fan spins up to what must be maximum speed; sounds like a turbine engine. This persists the entire time the car is driven, regardless of outside temp, AC compressor being on, etc. Once the ignition is turned off it spins down immediately.
The engine temp gauge reads normal, no change there.
I took it in to the dealer this morning, where at first the service advisor tried to convince me it was within normal operating parameters, but then agreed it shouldn't sound like a learjet taxiing down the apron in 17 degree C weather.
Anyone had this experience before? I wonder if it is a temp sensor in the engine bay, or an ECM issue...
