2011 Mercedes Benz E-350 4-Matic Wagon

I have 192,000 miles on my E-350 4-Matic Wagon. Love it and it’s been a great vehicle. Had to replace the transmission about 191,000, but now there is an error message;

“ESC Inoperative. See Owners Manual.” The Engine Light also goes off.

When I stop the car, turn in off and re-start it, this error message goes away. However, then the check engine light goes on.

Any ideas or suggestions on what this is all about?

ESC translate to escape route.
Are you sure that is what it is saying?
Read the codes.

It's a really vague message. Have the car scanned and get the code from the check engine light. You should get a scanner that MB specific codes as the stability error code won't show up on a regular OBDII scanner.

Thanks. Took it in to the shop today to have them run the codes and see what they could find. I appreciate all of the info!

Thanks all. The problem was an Accelerator Pedal sensor($129). They charged $95 for diagnostics, which I thought was a little excessive, $110 for labor and the total bill was $372.96. But, it's fixed and working well now, so it's all good.
