QUICKSHIFT

After washing (by hand) and waxing my wife's 2014 E350, I noticed that when I went to put it into the garage, the front proximity sensors did not go off as usual going through the 8' wide door. The dash indicators were not lit up. When I first start the car, the indicator lights up full on all LCDs but then goes out and stays off. I tried the "P" button on the dash and still no change. What am I missing? ( Chemo brain isn't helping either....LOL)

You mean parktronic? Make sure you didn’t wax a sensor by mistake. Clean them with some rubbing alcohol. When a sensor goes bad the system will initialize and then turn itself off automatically just like you are experiencing. I’m sure your fault is something else, and hopefully it will reset.

I clean my sensors every time I wax or they don't work, also when items are placed in front of the car in the garage it gets upset and turns off. once I go somewhere and park they reset and work fine. If all front sensors get the same reading when starting in the garage everything works fine. So I moved the stuff and no issues!
