W212 steering wheel swap to W166 AMG or W246

I’m planning swapping my w212 original steering wheel with one of those: the AMG W166 or the W246.
My choice end up installing the amg W166. I swap the chips from the old steering wheel. Now I need help with one issue. I have noticed that only the W166 is missing the brown cable connecting the column to the metal upper part. My question before making the swap is that cable is important or not, can I make the swap without a problem or not. In my original steering wheel the cable is in green/yellow (first pic).
Thank you for the help

W212 original steering wheel (the cable in green and yellow)

The W166 AMG steering wheel that I would like to install missing the brown or green/yellow cable

The W246 steering wheel has the brown cable which missing only in the AMG one

The brown cable looks to be a ground for something. I couldn't guess as to what though.

Do you actually have two replacement steering wheels?

my guess is also that's the ground cable, but is it really necessary to have or not ? that's I'm not sure I don't want to try it and get an error code.
Yes I have both steering wheel. I bought the first one as it was impossible to find the AMG one at a reasonable price.
thanks for the reply

Did your stock wheel have heating? I swapped mine a while ago and I had the same question. But I’m pretty sure it was because my stock had heating while the new didn’t because of carbon.

hi, thanks for the reply. No actually my stock wheel doesn't have heating. So when you did swap yours you just removed that cable ?
actually when I took a look to the airbag, there is also a brown cable relating the metal part which is to me a ground cable that connect the metal part of the airbag to the spring part.
so my understanding of it, is that the brown cable work as a ground to relate the wheel to the airbag.
