I have the broken command control problem and am in the process of doing the repair.
I have the unit out but I cannot get the ribbon cable connector off the rails that hold it in place below the cupholder.
I expect it just slides off but it appears to have some latch holding it in place.
Is there some "trick" to releasing the connector from the locating rails.
I have included a picture of what I am facing.
I am considering just doing the repair with the unit hanging out of the console but it would be much easier if I could remove it.
Any help in identifying how to release the connector from the locating rails would be appreciated.
