Mercedes Benz USA is offering a $150 Off $300 on service from November 1 2019 through January 2 2020. The catch is you have to have a facebook account to get the coupon. I do not have any facebook or twitter or anything else except an email address so I am having my son get the coupon for me. I also filed a complaint with MBUSA stating they are discriminating against people who do not have facebook. OLD SCHOOL , I do not want everyone to know what I am doing. It is out there so if anyone wants it go to MBUSA and put your facebook address into it to get it.

Did some follow up. Got into MBUSA facebook could not find coupon. Called them. They said they only sent coupons to select individuals on facebook. If you did not use them a lot on facebook they did not send the coupon to you. Looks like I will be going to an independent shop for my next oil change. They really discriminated on this one.

That's a little weird. I'm not on their page either, and I got one for one of my cars but the the other. It was for my 2011, not the 2008. Maybe they think the 2008 is too old. I haven't been bringing mine to the dealership anyway.

I received the promotion in email during the Summer, but it ended Sep.2... haven't received this new one.

There are a few things I've learned to live without, to include cigarette smoking, recreational drugs, and social media. No one needs to know what I ate for breakfast.

That's not exactly discrimination. First, non-FB users aren't a protected class. Second, giving favors to people who contribute more? Welcome to every company out there. Beta test a company's product, use it more and provide more feedback? You're more likely to be selected again. Be more active on their social sites? They're more likely to toss something your way saying "thanks". Same same.

That IS discrimination. It's just not illegal. It's illegal to discriminate against a protected class. It's no illegal to discriminate against a non protected class. There's a difference.

Discrimination can happen every day. You can decline to give money to the homeless but be quite willing to give to friends/family etc. Nothing illegal about it. It's MB's money, they can give it to whoever they like.

I don't think you understood the point of my post. People seem to want to label everything discrimination. I'm just saying so what, it's not illegal and it happens all the time. As long as it's not against a protected class, it's not illegal.

I contacted MBUSA and they replied that dealers offer discounts and coupons. Implication is that they do not. I specifically mentioned that I had heard that MBUSA was offering $150 off $300 service on facebook.
The Best or Nothing. I guess it is nothing.

In the past it was mentioned that the discount came partly from MB and the dealers which is why they didn't like to combine it with any other discount.

problem is dealer usually offers about $50 off oil change but that is a lot less than the $150 you could get from MBUSA if you were on there good side. I know I would prefer the $150 the dealer can keep the $50,
