Converting heated seats to cooled seats after bypassing heater core?
Hi guys, since I decided to by pass my leaking heater core, it saddens me that I'll be losing my heater, heated seats, and defroster functionality. However, is it possible to convert the heated seats to cooled seats in my 2016 E350 4matic?! Thanks

How does bypassing the heater core have anything to do with heated seats? They are 100% unrelated.

Mercedes does not have cool seats. They are ventilating seats. I have had 3 Mercedes vehicles with seat ventilation. It is poorly engineered and spending any money to install these into your car would be a complete waste. Please save your money to repair the heater core properly

they might be called cooled seats since they suck the air coming from lower ducting, who is cooled.
The seats are using like 3W fans, so the flow is hard to notice, but that sounds like good excuse to ran the option package into 4-digits.
Still the questioned heating pads, being electric will work and they do have pretty good reliability. Not for over 20 years, but good.

Seriously fix the damn heater core. It's a Mercedes, not a 1992 Hyundai. It pains me so much to see nice cars like this left to rot into hoopties.

If the OP is so short of funds he should try what I suggested in my earlier post. Fill only the heater core with the Bar's leak seal and then flush it out. There is nothing to loose with this. No harm to engine or other parts of the cooling system. If it does not fix the leak then by-pass it or replace it.
