Wagon Trunk Trim Install

Hi All,

Happy Thanksgiving. I really need help installing a replacement trim piece for the wagon’s trunk. The little bracket that holds back the seatbelt broke and though this sounds small it’s a huge pain when pulling the trunk shade open.

@konigstiger maybe you have a magic PDF or two? Would really appreciate it. The part numbers are a2128490703 and a2126903325. Here’s a couple of pics of the new one.

Huge thanks for any info!!

Looks like the part numbers a2128490703 and a2126903325 are not US or North American. Can anyone provide ?
BTW, I am grateful to this thread contributors. a month in to my CPO i did not even see these and was wondering how can the design of this feature be so clumsy. Problem is that I did not see that the drivers's side is broken when I picked it up.

Wow, I just discovered the right side seat belt clip on my CPO wagon is broken too! Also didn't notice it when I picked up the car.

I'm contemplating replacing it myself but since my car is still under original factory warranty, what are the odds that dealer will replace it and not charge me for any labor for taking apart the rear interior panel?

I believe that original MFGR warranty would maybe do it. But if it is a CPO it has the CPO warranty which I am pretty certain will not cover that. I will venture to replacing it my self as well. I thought about living with it, which is fine as long as you dont have to roll the cover out or back in. Then I start the mumble. First I curse the dealer some and then I vow to replace it. Then I get in and drive and forget about it...... LOL

So if I read this right, the whole part number is 212-849-07-03-8Q96. It shows "available" in the link you provided but there is no photo so I am a bit shy to pull the trigger on purchasing. In fact the part number barely returns any relevant results on Google.. Would you please confirm that this is the right number for part 100 in the diagram you provided for the espresso brown color?

VIN specific info emailed confirms color. Initial post above first photo depicts 2128490703 (100 in diagram), second 2126903325 (70) 8Q96 is your color code for both i.e.: 21284907038Q96 & 21269033258Q96. For peace of mind you can check/confirm with local dealership parts.

Thank you konigstiger. Much appreciated.
Some additional questions. In the replacement instruction pdf there is a clip remover part number 452589016300. Is it proprietary MB ? Is there a set that may be a better recommendation and that you may be aware of or have experience with?

Actually you can scratch that request. I used the trim removal tools to pull it up off the top. Once I realized that there is no need to remove the seat belt anchor points it just made absolutely no sense having to remove all the panels etc. It is not like I cared much about the broken piece but there were no broken clips anyway.
Now the seat belt stays in place when I roll the cover on or off.
