Pre-safe inoperable on/off/on/off

so, getting this error now every now and then. Is there a more-than-likely list of causes down to less-than-likely? I’m at 45k miles on a 2014. Replaced the aux battery in the trunk last year. Presume main battery is original. Brakes/rotors replaced 20k miles ago with genuine MB parts (lesson learned - they suck). Have noticed groaning noises when braking in the front, certainly doesn’t sound “Mercedes” like. But stops on the dime.
So... anything more common to check before calling the shop?
where is the sensor located? Is the glass behind the center rear view mirror? Isn’t dirty but can certainly wipe it clean(er) if that’s where it is located??
thanks!

Oh as for brakes, I just did Zimmerman rotors with Akebono pads from FCPeuro, lifetime warranty so I'm all set for next time. Akebono are great for minimum brake dust. No groaning or anything although I wouldn't automatically blame the brakes, could also be bushings or other suspension parts. or even the dreaded motor mounts.

I think I have the dreaded motor mount issue, and the trans mount now too. I’ve had several cars in the past where the motor mounts where clearly going bad, this one is showing those signs now too.
I also cite the transmission mount as I now have a rumble in the car when it goes into 5th on light acceleration. It’s not slipping, just a rumble under my seat through out the frame of the car. Lasts maybe 1 second, but always 5th gear. Started faintly about a month ago every so often, but getting worse now (maybe 1k miles total during that time). I suspect 5th gear is somewhere in the transmission where the weight of the mechanical shifting into that gear hits just that sweet spot that, with just the right amount of torque on the system, is putting metal on metal of the mount for just that split second. I have a feeling new mounts throughout will likely reset the car.
If my mechanic is correct about the heat of exhaust manifold accelerating the decay of the motor mounts, and I don’t doubt him as his knowledge of MB is stellar beyond belief, then no doubt in my mind the mounts are likely there, regardless of mileage. This car has seen lots of sitting/inching along in DC traffic. Mileage maybe not suggest, but engine run time probably does. We shall see! Since I’ve decided to not replace it with a GLE, I’m going to fix a few things....

Don't forget, you can get the transmission fluid, ATF 134 FE from a shell distributor. Last time I checked it was a little over $65 for a case of 12 quarts.
