Installing headlight washer cover into bumper cover
On my 2010 E550 with headlight washer system, the cover of the washer system broke off. There's now an opening in the bumper underneath the headlight, where this cover normally would be.
I ordered a new part through the dealer (I think the part # is 21286002089197) and will need to install it next week.
However, the cover is pulled back into the bumper cover by a spring which is installed with the smaller cover. Installing this spring looks like a little problem. I wonder if anybody has experience with this installation? Is there a trick to getting this spring in? I would hate to break any of these plastic parts.
Here's a picture pointing out the cover in question:

It's the exact piece from the passenger side as on OP's picture above.
Does anyone know if this is an easy fix/install and part that can be ordered to exact match as my car's color - Diamond White?
Don't know how this happened as I washed the car last week and everything was sturdy and intact.
Your help and feedback is much appreciated.

I was able to install mines. Pull off but not completely, the side of the bumper that you need access to and install from behind bumper...about 10-15 minutes.

I had this happen when I went to a car wash and at the pre-wash using a broom the cover broke off when I pressed on it a little bit.
So, at home I see this cover is attached with four very small points and what I did was I first glued it in place with super glue just to get it aligned properly. Then I used 2-part 5 minute epoxy to fasten it good. I also used the epoxy on the other side anticipating it would be breaking off soon too.
To do the gluing job I had to pull the spray nozzle assembly out and used a pen or something to keepit in out position.
This fix was done about 18 months ago and so far has held together just fine.

It is close to impossible to install from the front. I had to half remove my bumper to install from behind. To know how the spring should be placed, open the other one on the other side and analyze it.

There is no need to remove the bumper, i had to replace both covers on my older W212. You need to push on the bumper in order for it to flex in and let you push the cover in place. It took me many tries to get it done.
When you will be looking at the other side to see how it attached, be very careful. Otherwise, you will end up replacing both covers instead of one, speaking from my own experience ))
