Locations of auto wiper and lights sensors

Where are the sensors for the auto wipers and auto lights located in 2010 E350? My auto lights come on when I start the car in the garage as it is dark. However, lately they never go off when I drive out into the sunlight.
There is some type of sensor (I think) in the middle of the dash right behind the windshield.
Thanks,

I believe the rain and light sensor are a combined unit which sit on the windshield.
I always thought that little dome on the top of the dash was for controlling the COMAND screen day/night.

On my C320, the little dome on the dashtop is the ambient light sensor, while the rain sensor is centered directly behind the windshield up top, in the black zone.

I imagine the W212 is the same. Easy enough to test by placing a bottle cap over the dome to see if the headlights glow in the daylight. (Set lighting and wipers to automatic.) Then throw some water on the windshield...

I tried searching the W212 owner's manual, but no joy.
