I also want to be able to do a manual DPF regeneration on my own if necessary. The car in Maine is about 45 minutes from the Mercedes dealer plus we all know what they will charge for what might be a pretty simple fix.
Allow receiving PMs in your profile.
At this point Autel dongle for $49 seems to be best deal on the market, but my E250 BT runs perfect lately, so I have not yet tested what the scanner does.
Regardless, you will like the scanner for the price.
If you monitor your engine, -acting when necessary, and the best for it is ScanGauge, you will never need manual regeneration.

If you're not in a hurry, try the Thinkcar Pro. It's also supposed to do dpf reg. Otherwise I think you'd need a more expensive one like the Foxwell in order to do it. Takes a while to ship though, but at under $50, not too bad.

I'm assuming it's best to go with the icarsoft v3, instead of the V2?

Honestly, just don't. It's useless and for $200 more you can have something like an Autel that does everything. $200 on my iCarSoft MB3 is the worst money I've spent in a few years.

Man don't tell me that I just purchased the mbv3.0 waiting for it to come, I already have a autel bio directional unit it reads my bmw, Ford, chevy and vw but not a Benz except generic stuff. They say the foxwell 530 is good for Benz? Maybe I should just get zentry on a external drive from ebay since no one can seem to contact pmercury. I have three MB, for my bmw I have ista D and P, also have protool, have vag/com for my vw. What do you suggest

There's a guy on FB W212 group, Amir Miladi, who sells Xentry. Or it's relatively easy to find elsewhere. Just have to be comfortable using a PC, and have a connector.
