He broke off the plastic "barbed fitting" of the thermostat I think like konigstiger says is the part to replace. It might be possible to thread a brass or steel barbed fitting in the hole on the thermostat but this greatly depends on the diameter of that hole.
Depends how handy you are.
That connector is attached to thermostat housing, but seems to be separate part.
Some legroom would find matching part at Home Depot.
Need to replace thermostat, current part # 6512002800.

Thanks for the responses. Just to update you all, I followed instructions from someone on a Reddit thread I'd also posted and I took a broken part out (almost) using pliers and a hook and pick set. This person's account has since been deleted, but here are the instructions they gave:
definition of components:
a hose is a compressible flexible tube that directs matter onwards or to and fro
a hose barb is a hard part that goes into a hose easier than it is removed and encourages a stable, sealed assembly
a spring hose clamp is used in conjunction with hose and a hose barb to further encourage a stable, sealed assembly
an e-clip retainer is used in conjunction with a groove to aid in retaining a part, as explained here
approximated location of the parts that need to be removed here
instructions:
squeeze hose clamps with gripping tool. while squeezing, slide hose clamps with gripping tool until hose clamp is either 1) off the hose or 2) up the hose (clear of any internal hose barbs)
apply a twisting action to the hose on or about the location of the suspected hose barbs. this is an effort to break any unwanted adhesions that may've formed between the hose and the hose barb. this may require gripping tools or more.
while supporting the part with hose barbs, pull the hoses axially away from the hose barbs. it may require some twist action or tools to direct grip and leverage.
using a small pointed or hooked tool, slide the e-clip retainer out of its groove.
lower the part out of the bracket.
Above are videos of what I've done so far. The middle part of the valve (the thick part) actually fell and I couldn't find it, but you can see the two ends of it at the end of the second video. Also, part of the valve is stuck in the left hose and I'm trying to figure out how to get it out.
I'm not sure what to do now. From what this Reddit user said, it would appear I should get a new check valve (I haven't been able to find it online). Someone here said to replace the thermostat.

Unfortunately MB does not offer broken part separately. Vent line replacement is part 6512000358. Try searching the following part #s for sacrificial unit: 6512002800, 6512001500, 6512001715, 6512001215, and 6512000615.

I went into the dealership with the broken little plastic connector and the guy who was helping me said it can only come with a large part, called a vent line like you said. I ordered it and finally got it but it doesn't include the broken part inside that I needed, which he said was included. I'm stuck now and they're closed until Monday. I'm going to try and get a courtesy car.(I didn't see until it was too late because someone picked it up for me). The part number was actually 2125013725, by the way. I don't need this part. It's actually completely intact. What I need is the little black connector that connected the end of the vent line with the hose it connected to that you can see in my videos (it looks blue). That's what broke in two and that's what you see at the end of the last video. I can't even find any diagram that shows it.

Part in question is actually incorporated into thermostat not vent line. I referenced vent line because you stated broken piece could not be removed from line.
