S212 e350 improve drive-ability (2011)

Hello all,
i have been reading through the posts about actually getting a tune on your car or getting a sprintbooster.
i am new to Mercedes, i came from a bmw 535xi and it felt a lot... peppier.... so i am missing that aspect (even though my Mercedes is admittedly more comfortable all the way around) i want to wake it up. I called a local Mercedes specialist and he told me i can get a tune on my N/A v6 and gain about 15/16 hp/torque for 600 dollars... steep for that amount of gain i know. He then contrasted his offer with a proposal i just buy a sprintbooster and call it good because it wakes up the car by increasing the amount of throttle sent through the computer. This alone would put me out 300 dollars. Before anyone starts the “you shouldnt have bought a 350 if you want power... yes i know that 350 are not known for power, but it was what i could afford with the insurance money. What do people with experience in the sprint boosters and or ecu tune suggest i do? Is there a cheaper chip, or tune module you know of for the 2011 e350? Any downsides to either other than price?
thanks for any replies in advance

I have the 2010 E350 and I bought the Sprint Booster about a year ago. I love it. I keep it on Sport 6. In addition, about 2 months later, I bought a stage 3 OBDII tuner from Performance Chip Tuning. This made a big difference as well. Also, you should clean your Mass airflow sensor and replace your air filters, if needed. A bottle of Techron in the gas can’t hurt either.

thank you for your response, would you mind sending me the link the the obdii tune you bought? I went to the website but it looks like there are a few different options. Did the tune reduce your gas mileage? Not that it matters that much but i understand the sprintbooster drastically reduces gas mileage.

ok, I just sent you the email. Also, it reduced gas mileage somewhat. But I also fixed some other things at the same time (cleaned MAF, changed air filters, and some other things) so it’s hard to tell what actually contributed to the increase. However, with the sprint booster, if you end up driving more aggressive then it won’t really be much of a save on gas.
