Interior trim lights was an option I guess as 1 of my W212 has it, the other doesn't.
My factory lights are blue.

OP is definitely showing silver switches.

Sanded, sandblasted, or store-bought somewhere(?)

Bought them at Amazon. The memory and lock metal buttons have the logos punched out. Meaning light come right through. Everything else is metal with a semi transparent backing, so the light can come thru. I did all the buttons around the car.

And I have a 2012 none of the buttons were metal before.

Can you provide link? And do they feel metallic or is this silver plastic?

These are pure metal. With the punched through logos.

Nice find. I had couple of MB where PO wear out black on buttons like radio search, so that would make nice replacement.

I like the concept, but gluing this stuff on seems like it's a commitment that you can't return from. And a few reviews mention them falling off. So I will pass but it does look nice on your car.

You can always go back to stock. The regular black vinyl is sold very cheaply on eBay and Amazon. The switched use 3m that is pretty sturdy and feels good.

I think prying these off would do damage.

prying these off will do damage if your buttons are already starting to peel(as is the intended purpose of these, damaged button repair) as mine were. I peeled off to re-position and the entire black surface(which was clearly already compromised) peeled off with the button cover, and subsequently made the shiny new cover not sticky any more. But, no harm, no foul as I was able to remove the adhesive and replace it with some I had leftover from some phone/tablet repairs I used to do. YMMV

Right as I mentioned the black vinyl with lettering is cheap and can be replaced if it's peeled off,but the button itself is undamaged.

I should have been more clear.. my buttons right now are perfect and undamaged. I like this look, but I think peeling them off would damage my currently undamaged black ones. So that's why I will not do this now - however, in the future if my buttons get damaged I will totally do this.

LilBenz - right on... I feel the same say. Part of me wants to add these, but then I read the reviews and felt that once I started gluing, there's no turning back. Didn't want to add any drama to my car that wasn't there.

Thanks so much for this info. Between myself and the detailers, my seat switch buttons had been rubbed out. I installed the Amazon aluminum button covers you suggested in 5 minutes and problem solved. Car looks great again. These aluminum button covers should be indestructible. Now I need proper radio button covers to fix what the detailers similarly rubbed out.
