Strange ESP / ABS fault.

Strange ESP / ABS fault.
Hi guys.
Working on a E300 Bluetec hybrid year 2013.
Encountering a flooded road, the following fault lights lit up on the dash: ESP fault, ABS fault, cruise control not working, TPMS not working.
Using an Icarsoft MB scanner, got the three codes: 7266 Consequent fault, 5134 Right rear axle rpm sensor,7270 Implausible values of rpm.
Replaced the right aft ABS /reluctor ring and the ABS sensor. The reluctor ring was obviously in very bad shape (cracked and rusty).
Following road test, the fault lights on the dash were still present. After resetting with the scanner, things started to happen. Now the Engine light came on, and even though the gear selector was put in D or R, the engine would rev without the gearbox engaging.
Trying on more reset, the car would move. Now with all fault lights off, the traction control light is flashing ( Like if the car was skidding ) and running jerky.
After some more driving all fault lights came back on.
The car is now at MB waiting for a diag on the STAR tester.
Any ideas on what is going on? I find it highly unlikely that replacing a reluctor ring and an ABS sensor would cause any harm.
