Brake upgrade?
I've been searching this forum and the web and have found tidbits suggesting the possibility but nothing firm...
While I'm sure the stock brakes are sufficient for most circumstances, I'd really like to have 4-pot brakes in the front and 2-pot in the rear. I did this on the c230 and there was a marked difference.
Are there direct bolt-on brakes available from another W212 version or another Mercedes model?

Check this post: Swap to Brembo from E550.

It did have few unanswered questions that I need to follow up.

Thanks Max_1. That's the best thread & info I've found, but yes still some unanswered questions on which calipers or calipers from which cars will work, which rotors to use, and I really like to do all 4 corners of the car (4-pot front, 2-pot rear). Are you also looking to do all 4 corners? Please keep us updated on what you find!

My plan is to get front done first an see how it feels.
Most of the braking is done by the front end anyway, so my suspicion is that is going to be enough for my purpose.

Yep, most of the braking is done by the front brakes but I'd like a balanced system. Please let us know what you find - Thanks!

From a purely aesthetic perspective I would be interested (stock setup is plenty strong) - but I don't want anything where I have to make minor modifications to make it work. If it will bolt on straightaway and work, I think it looks much better. But if I'm going to have to fabricate anything I'm out. I'm surprised you had to upgrade your W203, my W203 had beefier brakes than my W212 has. It had fixed twin-piston front calipers and 13.6" rotors.
Keep us posted on what you find out.

My '03 W203 had the single piston units front and rear. The facelifts got the two-piston front and rear. I think the '04.5's got the 4 piston front and 2 piston rear, which is what I put on. For those it was a straight bolt on, along with the matching rotors. There was a very noticeable difference in braking with the 4-piston/2-piston brakes. I'm looking for a straight bolt on solution here too - hoping one exists.
