Mobil 1 rebate time

(I don't think this has been posted here yet ...)

I always get some when the rebate comes around -- 0w-40 European formula for our cars

I hate these Mobil 1 rebates.
Still waiting for my 2 rebates filed months ago. Filed one with home address & other to office address. Got a msg that one of them was not acceptable, it's way past the 6 - 8 weeks, & still haven't received one yet.
I'm switching to other synthetics, whichever is on sale...

sooo, I just looked at the rebate site, and European Formula isn't even on the list...nice try though. Good luck with that rebate!

I don't think they list everything, but I could be wrong. Last time, WalMart wasn't on the "list" of vendors, but I purchased our oil there and got the rebate just fine. We'll see what happens. And, yeah, it takes a while to get the rebate too. But, I'm going to run Mobil 1 anyway.

This applies to all engines that call for 229.5 oil. It should be all W212 with gasoline engines (diesels take 229.51). It is the specific formulation that MB had Mobil 1 make. Until a couple of years ago, this was the only 229.5 oil MBUSA dealers used, and they still sell it in quarts at the parts counter. This one guy sells it on Amazon but cannot use the phrase "Mercedes Benz" in his listing. Anyway, today MB OEM's 229.5 from several sources and sells it as Mercedes Benz branded oil. But the Mobil 1 Formula M remains the only specifically blended 229.5 oil (as opposed to blends that were granted 229.5 certification) with other than a Mercedes label, in the US.

I've bought it online for years from Amazon and have used it exclusively in 7 hard-driven AMGs to date. My current E63S burns zero oil between changes, so my current six-pack will probably last a long time. I don't know what they changed, but this is the first AMG that does not consume any oil.
