Wheel Offset And Tires Recommendation
Hi guys I just need an advice if these will work on my 2013 4Matic E350 My stock wheels are 18x8.5 all around and I think it is 48 offset .My plan is to get 19 inch wheels and the front will be 19x8.5 42 rear is 19x9.5 38 would this be a good set up? the car is still stock height and im not planning to lower it bec of the crappy roads here , will 255x35x19 front and 275x30x19 rear will be safe for the 4matic? Thanks a lot guys

MB/AMG`s only approval for staggered setup for 4matic w/s212 is as follows
Front rim: 8,5x19 ET48 -- Tire 245/35-19
Rear rim 9,5x19 ET48 -- Tire 275/30-19.
Both these rim dimensions give a combo between rim width/tire which is this tires dimensions Measuring Rim. Measuring Rim is the rim widht that any tire is mounted on when measured. Most often it is approved by DOT to mount any tire on a variation of rim widths.
My comment is that 275/30 is about 1% shorter than the 245/35. But since it is approved by the factory i reckon this variance is ok on the 4matic.
I do not want to drive on 19"s as they give very little rubber height for the bad roads i am driving.
So i have opted for 18" with the same widths with half a step up i section to maintain the correct diameter. The variance between front 245/40-18 and the shorter 275/35-18 is actually closer, just 0,5% shorter than on the 19"s 1% variance.
I reckon i am pretty safe with my choice.
Do not use 255/35-19 front -- as this will give an even greater difference in the circumference - against the 275/30`s at the rear. I do not Know - but absolutely Suspect that this would cause issues with the 4matic system. Not necessary immediately - but sooner or later such choice will probably bite back.
The dimensional choices taken by MB i think will be absolutely best for the cars "driving balance" --- as in no understeer nor oversteer.
I am pretty sure that i have "replicated" this balance with the only difference beeing my choice in 18"- all other measurements equal, also this tires are mounted on their measuring rim. It will certainly close the gap between the feared variation in circumference.used on 4matic
And as said, i think the vehicles balance will be maintained exactly with no hazzle - just a bit softer both lateral/horizontal.
Any other with some thougths about this topic ?
