Follow the recommend procedure for it and that's to tension wheel 180 degrees if the lid going slow. It did glide a bit better but not 100%. Going to remove this soon again when changing panel trims and then want 100% result. Going to put bit more tension to the spring, but like to know what kind of grease they use from factory thinking to clean that up and add new. Any other tips?

I had trouble with my compartment lid closing slowly and stopping half-way closed from new. They tried lubricating it twice, then finally just replaced the mechanism. Third time was the charm.

Good luck with additional tension and lubrication. Hope you fare better than I, especially if you are out of warranty. (Mine was in-warranty.)
