What radio code? Your clock may need to be reset. Maybe a reset of your windows and sunroof. That should be it.

I believe if you yank the Comand unit out and try to install it in any other MB it will not work. That’s all I know about the unit being coded and branded to each vehicle. There is no start-up code when depowered like other car brands.

Clocks reset from GPS or cellphone. Not sure exactly.
W212, unlike older brothers does remember all settings. Even my garage & gate code.
For last 20 years MB doesn't install radios on American models.
They install command centers., who I believe need SD to pair with the car, but nothing to reset when power is disconnected.

You asked disconnecting both batteries because you wanted to 'install a module' . Does the module you want to install require both batteries to be disconnected? Does the module have live power to it with the engine/ignition shut off?

In any event, I would not disconnect both batteries simultaneously, not that you can at exactly the same time. I would need really freaky LONG arms to disconnect a battery in the engine bay and in the trunk at exactly the same time.
Sequentially would be a more accurate term.
Depending what "module" you are installing, I would disconnect only the battery most likely to power it, not both... unless a trained auto electrician tells you to disconnect both.
