CPO Extended Warranty
#26
Hi, this is definitely a useful anecdotal data point. Out of curiosity, do you have more information on what exactly happened on the pano roof or the headliner? Perhaps the records from the visit (which would be awesome)? These are both items that I would not expect to be covered based on my read of the warranty text, and I’m very curious exactly what happened and how they were covered (I.e. what repair), if you wouldn’t mind posting them. Also, good to know transmission mounts are covered under extended, as I have only seen motor mounts specifically listed on the extended warranty. Perhaps there’s an item that they fall into under Transmission or another section that I did not take notice of.
Thanks so much in advance!

a couple more things. My sun visor attachment popped off as it broke from the attachment. They reinstalled it with a new one. My parking brake release lever didn't release fully (again). They fixed that with extended CPO. Finally, they are still diagnosing a steering wheel noise issue but haven't been able to duplicate it. Biggest issues so far was the turbo boot cracking. Also as my car is a diesel, the DPF will probably go south at some point. That's gonna be a $4K replacement. I know these are many issues but no uncommon at all. You will see all these issues on this model if you do search in the forum. The words, Planned Obsolescence, comes to mind. Without the CPO it would have been a money pit.

Do we have the CPO Extended Warranty coverage, or a link to it, posted here on the forum somewhere?
Things I'm concerned about: subwoofer amplifier fan under rear deck in trunk, rear sun shade catches when going up/down, parking brake pedal is sticking again (replaced 3 months ago), passenger sun visor mirror assy came apart - I snapped back together but...

Does one need to buy the 2 year extension prior to the 4/50k original warranty expiration or prior to the 1st free year CPO expiration?

Here is my view on extended service contracts...
Like all - it is a crap shoot...BUT
it is about the coverage you have and if you maintain your car...so they do not deny...
I have had Endurance for the past 3 years - have the Exclusionary warranty (list of whats not covered - IE wear and cosmetic) - I paid about $4K for it (3 year 36K miles)...Dealer wanted 6700 for a lessor version.
They have covered everything needed with them sending out a claims advisor on the more expensive fixes to validate - this is normal.
So far I think that have covered about 11K in repairs (at dealer costs) So for me I have been 100% happy with them..
Like Torq Converter (and covered all the fluid and cleaning too)
engine and trans mounts
Pulleys
Oil seals and power steering lines
Front airmatic strut
Heating elements in seats
and more - I just forget..
They just called me today - funny timing - and i just got an extend - Secure plus 5 years 50K miles added for $2900 - while its not as good as what i had - Im happy to have expensive things covered as I still love the car...My car now has 120K on it and covered til 2025 or 170K miles...Cheaper than a newer car!
Be sure what ever you buy to actually take the time to read the fine print -
Some cover things like "electronic modules in the trans" while others do not...
Good luck with your searches...

A lot of exclusions has me doubting keeping the 2 year extension. It doesn't activate till October and is fully refundable. Doug Demuro (I despise him but nonetheless) recently sold his CPO E63 wagon and said they denied every claim he made. I do not believe your sunshade will be covered. No issues with it in my W212 and my W203 never had issues either. I had my 2005 C230k till it was 7 years old and had 146k miles and the sunshade always worked fine. It's apparently pretty labor intensive to replace it.
Now they should cover the amplifier, though.

Quick comment on this — what he said did not line up with the service records he posted with the car on Cars & Bids in the slightest. They did cover every valid claim that should be covered, and as far as the large "repair," he complained to an independent shop about water entering his interior through the windshield (!!) and declined the repair (!!) 6 months before (!!) it fried his electrical system. And expected MB to cover it. Very, very disappointing that's how he used his platform.
Thanks for offering up some clarity.

He gets ahold of some unique rides to review, but after the first 30 seconds he is so annoying I just can’t watch anymore.

I agree with this one though, my '93 S500 was the best Benz I've had. quiet as a bank vault, triple door seals, double glazed glass, security package and 5400 lbs of Tuetonic excellence. My 03 and 07 were not even close. {yes the 03 was my favorite} but the 93 was a much better car.

If I were in his shoes and my dealer was willing to do the work, first I would have fixed my car and not ignored the water coming into my interior for 6 months, which may have mitigated the other issues. But (in this situation) after water entered my interior in the first place, my SA would almost certainly have denied to do any of that work and told me to call my insurance company... I feel bad for whoever got that car next.
