W212 AMG Glove box peeled off low milage *pics*
Hi, just recently got my W212 E63 AMG Everything runs smooth. But two days ago I just noticed that the glove box door has now seperated layers. The attached pictures will.make it easier to explain. Should I just glue the layers together or is there a more 'classy' way to do it? And by the way what could have caused it?

I have never seen any Mercedes with that issue. Is the car from a hot climate, like Nevada or Arizona? Not a flood car, right?
Not sure how best to adhere that as the outside appears deformed. Maybe try to source a new door from a junk yard.

It looks like the plastic door has sprung straight so this probably is the reason for the glue to fail.
Can you bend the door back by hand to close the gap between parts? If not then gluing may not work...?

It has been under the sun for extended periods of time. Car was not flooded. It has been hot here recently.

It is a used car outside warranty, right? You have nothing to loose if you try to glue it back together. Good contact cement should do it or a good 5 min 2-part epoxy might be needed.

I wouldn’t use any kind of heated cleaning method like steam on the interior plastic components. Carpet, yeah that’s fine.
It’s possible they went a little crazy around that area with a steam wand and broke the glue bond.

Judging by some of the markings at the top of the glove box, it looks like someone may have tried to break into it. Heat could also be an explanation. As for fix, glue and a large binder clip to hold it together until the glue dries.

Place a thin piece of board across the top on the outside to clamp to so you don't deform the cover, and hope for the best.
