W/S212 bulkhead removal

Hey everybody

I've been puzzled for quite some time on how to access the bolts to replace the crankcase ventilation valve (PCV) on my E350.

Finally I checked WIS and it says that for my particular variant engine 272.983, "Remove bulkhead between wheels wells" is required, but there is no associated document.

Has anybody done this before?

You will see from the pics how tight it is.. The bottom bolt is the problem and also I have tried the offset spanner to no avail.

There are many videos online of people changing this but lucky for them they have a bit more room on their application :'(

Hi Dave,

Yes I did - you can see all info here: https://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/i...emoval.184724/

Note that I didn't think there was any way possible to access the final two bolts for the PCV valve for the E350 CGI - but I met a mechanic recently who said he did it without removing the bulkhead.

Keep that in mind, but at least in the link, you will see what I had to do....... a lot of work...

Any evaluation if all that really is necessary? The steering column for example? The cover is supposed to be replaced every 4 years if i remember correctly..
