Arm Rest lids do not stay closed.

In my 2015 W212 E350 both arm rest lid closure fingers are now loose, no longer spring loaded. There is a loose spring visible in the mechanism beneath the arm rest open/close handle. Neither arm rest lid can be closed. Has anyone had this problem and what can be done to fix the problem?

Check out the first 3 minutes of this video. He takes the leather padded button off first, then, just before 3 minute mark he pulls off the cover. That should get you close anyway.

Centre storage box side rail removal

Hi nota_amg, many thanks the video link. I have a plastic trim removal tool exactly like the one in the video but unfortunately unable to unclip the centre storage box side rails which is necessary in order to get to the. Mechanism beneath the armrest release button. The rail removal in the video appears relatively simple, but I'm having no success.

Just my silly opinion, but as the guy in the video has a fight removing them and there is a horrible noise as he does so, maybe a little more force? I know it's scary, when I did my auxiliary battery behind the left dash panel, I was sure I was going for a new part, but it came off fine.

yeah, just be careful. Works best if you have that same pry tool. Make sure you pull straight up, starting at the front. There are 2 clips. I broke my clips off because I pulled out a little a not straight up. Good luck!
