Bilstein B6 struts?

Anyone have the Bilstein B6 struts on W212 sport package? I'm curious if they are really too harsh and I should just do the B4s. I'm considering replacing the struts on my E550 just due to age. I don't think they are that bad, but over 100K miles and kinda feels like it has lost something in the ride quality.

If you're looking for more firm ride and tighter handling the B6 is the way to go, if you're happy with the ride and cornering/handling I would get the B4's, Either will be much better than stock+ 100k miles.

I don't really want the ride to be jarring, but I do feel maybe the originals are a bit tired, not really blown though. This is one reason I still have stock 18" wheels. In my experience going to a 19" wheel that looks nicer, but has small tire sidewalls makes for a harsher ride that I don't want to accept at this point in my life.

The stock suspension is a bit soft in the corners for a "sport" suspension, but I don't want to feel every pebble and patch on the road going in a straight line either.

I will be interested in your findings. The reason I am interested is that even though the dealer said everything was good on my 135k E3504matic front end I feel stuff coming through the steering wheel that I wonder is due to worn shocks. So I will be curious if the car feels more refined with replacement shocks. For selfish reasons I hope that you go with the B4's

I recently installed B4's on my 2014 E550 4matic. Although I would love better handling , I wouldnt want to deal with firmer ride. Just not worth it. I would definitely op for air-matic on my next mercedes.

@S-Prihadi has written extensively on this forum about his experiences with B4 on his E400.

I have yet to hear from anybody who can report firsthand on the B6 on the W212.

Sorry no help here. Got the B4 struts. Ride is now like new if I had it when new. New springs/struts/shocks all around. Rear doesn't bottom out and the front feels fine. Not sure why I'd even want firmer struts, the roads are bad enough around here as it is. Takes a pothole nicely and bounces back, before it'd feel as if it was dead and had no travel, but that's probably because the springs were shot and the car was sitting lower. I've seen a few W212's like that, looks like they're lowered, but probably it's just the springs that are shot.
