The only problem with horsepower envy is that there always is someone with more HP. Heck, many run-of-the-mill pickup trucks have more OEM horsepower than an E550. So, horsepower is not all that. Been there, done that, remember most of it.

Meanwhile, my E350 (with just 25% less HP than the 550) has more than enough oomph to leave others behind when the light goes green. Coincidentally, most of the AMG drivers I see at the lights seldom punch it on city streets. Price of gas, or too many tickets, I won't speculate which, but pretty sure I know...

Oh, and I "smile" regularly when I drive my MB, too.

Edit: BTW, just yesterday, I cruised along my 6-lane main street in Flower Mound in formation with a brand new, Ferrari 488 Pista (sporting dealer paper temp. plates). It took 30 seconds for him to pass me at 45mph, as he wasn't exercising his 711 hp, either. Worked for me as it gave me more time to oggle.

Congrats on the new-to-you Ride! We test drove one of those almost-no-optioned E550s at a Carmax - it had lots of power, which we were not finding anywhere else. Lexus had dropped the V8 from the GS (this was before the GS-F), The GS350 was a yawn and when we drove an AWD it was a total dog. Acura's had very harsh suspension, besides being slow. Man, you could hardly pry the steering wheel out of our hands! But - we found a very loaded 550 for only a little more than the one with no options. Ours even has the Night Vision Assist and rear door sunshades (only could be had via special order in our year). Love the car.

Enjoy yours for many years to come (as we plan to with ours)!!!

lol man where I live nobody is afraid to be WOT, not enough cops around here, 2 tickets in 9 years in my e55. Of course I have to say the cops were being nice to me on both I want a biturbed e550 due to its capabilities to apparently make big power for pretty cheap overall, the e55 is expensive to increase the same levels of performance. Also I need 4matic due to the hills around me, in the 55 there can be a 1/4" of snow and you won't be able to keep it straight
