The credibility is there. I admitted my original quote jumped up a bit, (around $150 or so). I've been a Benz owner for over 25 years and I've been off/on this forum for many, many years. I also own a 2019 S560 so I know what the F*** I'm talking about. Just because some minor tweaks were made since my original post doesn't mean I have no credibility. Here's the final comments from me about this. I got all of the BC service at a MB, Audi, BMW shop for approx. $200 and I got all 4 tires for $626 dollars. I just got home from the tire deal. Over HALF of what the stealership quoted. I guess I'll stick to the S class forum since most of you are being asses.

Ouch, tough crowd! Ha!
I can see how this could happen, certainly. I don't know the brand of the tire, but the math equates to $162.25 per tire. So given install cost and whatnot, those are some pretty cheap tires. But if the OP has had them before and likes them, then so be it! I'd like to know the name of the tire for my own knowledge as well, because who knows, maybe someday I need some off-brand treads too!
On the b/c service - I'm not sure what that all involves, but it sounds like little more than an oil change and maybe air filter? I can believe that without hesitation as well. My wife's 2020 GLS was due for it's first oil change recently. $400 at the dealership for it's very first "A" service - $115 at my indi who also did all of that work on my E350 a couple of weeks ago. It's an oil change with a new MB oil filter. Not rocket science (and I don't like the cookies at the dealership at $50 a piece - I eat a lot of cookies).
OP - can you share what the tire brand is called? Would love to know myself! I remember back in the late 80's, my very first car was a 87' VW Golf GT (basically the 1986 GTI before they switch from the 8v to the 16v). Bought it used obviously and it came with these tires called "Delta", and they were amazing. Couldn't ever find them again when it came time replace them (which for a 16 years old in a red VW, didn't take long).

Well I must admit that the 212 members are different than the guys in the 220 and 221 forums I previously frequented, all about repairs and fixing all the finicky gadgets, this forum is about half that with many younger members looking to modify something or change wheel sizes, headlights, etc. This forum has less old guys of which I'm one, on the 221 forum I was a young guy! I agree that in the 222 forum which I followed for awhile as the plan was to get my fourth S Class was arguably from a different socioeconomic strata, however I have found the guys{ and girls} in this forum to genuinely want to help and keep you from making mistakes. I also agree on those forums you can say anything and usually not be called out, here, you need to be honest and forthright with the group, which for whatever reason you could not...

I agree. You know me from the W222 forum. I'm always as helpful and honest as I can be. I've never been jerked around there for YEARS ( I was once under the USERname Trumpet1) going back to 2007. I will never try to help this bunch again.

You want to know why? In post #8 you state you are buying OEM Continental tires because you got 60-65,000 miles out of them. By post #18 we are on to buying some brand made by Cooper. Eventually you tell us how great the off-brand tires nobody has heard of are because you got 60-65,000 miles out of them.
Either you have serious problems expressing yourself in writing or the frequent changing of details seems to verify a lack of credibility. Not a personal attack...simply quoting what you wrote!

No need to call people names here...
But the thread is a bit odd. The $1600 is too high but the sub-$900 is frankly is too low. Since most dealers will match tire rack pricing (upon request only, unfortunately) with alignment and service you would land at around $1200 with Continental tires. That would have been my personal choice.
Dealers will always be the priciest option but with the usual service coupons and price matching n tires the price should have been lower. You just have to ask for it... If one dealer doesn't do, the next dealer will and dealer will always price match each other.

Well, I have a question, has anyone heard from our good friend and 212 engineer S Prihadi? He has been a prolific poster with many great projects and in depth engineering reviews, I obviously enjoyed his work immensely.
my sister in laws parents were Indonesian, they both succumbed to the virus recently and I heard it's pretty bad there, anyone have any news?

Hercules Raptis tires?????!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!! wow, enough said right there. No dealership or even halfway reputable independent shop would EVER put those garbage tires on a Benz. Remember, you get what you pay for. Not a chance in hell op got 65,000 miles out of any tire on an eclass. Unless of course he was driving on steel belts until they went flat. The only truth in the op's post is that he compared buying quality tires at a dealership to buying Hercules 🤣🤣😂🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️ tires at some independent shop lol. What a joke.

I am not a fan of the OE Continentals my car has that were put on as part of the CPO process.. I would consider another line of Continentals or another name brand.
That said I also don't know how one gets that mileage on an E. All of my Benz cars have been quite hard on tires.. I don't think I've seen more than 30,000. But maybe if he has a squared setup (I have never had that on one), 60,000 is possible?
