Wagon - RFTs?

I'm exploring picking up a W212 wagon as a winter only car. Do the wagons have a spare tire or are they all on RFTs like on the sedan?

Danke!

My 2011 e550 sedan has a full sized spare, the wagon probably would too

2011 E350 wagon, full-ish size spare? I believe it was a 155/70/17 on steel rim and the wheels are 245/xx/17. I haven’t taken it out, not sure if it has any speed/distance restrictions.

Our ‘95 E320 wagon had a full size, alloy, spare.

You haven't specified what year W212 wagon you are considering. Someone can correct me, but I believe the pre facelift cars and sedans all had conventional tires. You might see RFT tires on some face lift (2014-2016) models, but I doubt it. Certainly any delivered with OEM RFTs have long been replaced by conventional tires, as RFTs are not very popular.

Most (if not all) W212s of any year had compact spare tires due to the limited space available (by design) below the rear floor. My 2016 sedan has a compact spare.

RFTs didn't become a Mercedes THING until the W213 models (2017 and newer).

Yeah I never saw RFTs on any W212s. Had a few as loaners, and looked at many before purchasing. Don't think this is an issue.

I just picked up a 2014 wagon, it has a spare (donut) under the 3rd row seat.

A car
Gosh I miss this community a lot b/c of all of the great responses (moved onto the 2019 A8 as a daily from the 204 a few years ago but now looking at a MB as a winter car (the A8 is my baby)! Thanks everyone! I'm *shocked* that there's a donut/spare tire of any kind on the wagon. Big plus! Thanks!

Facelift S212 still has donut spare.

If you are looking at S213, they have run flat tires.

Diesels are different story, but no diesel S212s here in the US recently.
