AMG Speedshift MTC

Just wondering, do any of you guys have an AMG Speedshift MCT transmission in your cars? build code 427. seven speed sport transmission?

Also when you shift from economy to sport on the center console button, do you get a red "S" on the dash?

My '12 has a gold S and E on the dash, my '13 has a gold E and a red S.

My car has code 427 per the VIN decoder. On my dash the E is green and the S is red.

The Data Card description for my 2016 E350 varies according to the source...

According to DataMB.com... "427 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 7-SPEED"

According to daimler AG... "427 AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sport transmission"

In "E" mode, the dash "E" is Green. In "S" mode, the dash "S" is Red.

Yes, I have a green E and a red S in the '13. the '12's are both gold. Note to self; stop posting before opening second bottle of Bordeaux.

I called my mechanic friend this morning, he laughed, said "they all have that transmission"

same transmission, different "engagement/disengagement" system. both are 722.9xx, but with different two digit suffixes.

Curious if you have the center console "hollow' shifter setup along with mode selector wheel for transmission, "Race-Start" and other AMG functions? Do you have Manual shift mode?

Mine is 722.960 A63 FE torque converter housing, A64 FE converter, A68 transmission housing with deep oil line, A87 valve body assembly with VGS 3, G960 transmission version 60, jut trying to figure out what I have, others on this forum most have the "AMG Speedshift MCT" in fact all of them apparently. I enclosed my build sheet from Koenigstiger. Actually I would be happiest if I had the average everyday transmission, But I was wondering what kind of unicorn I might have.

My car does not have any of those things except manual shift mode.

This car is notably more aggressive than our 2014 C350 was even though it is apparently the same drivetrain. Could just be programming.

I agree, faster than my "12 {and yes, stops faster too} especially in sport, could be programming, do you have the 722.960 tranny too? As in # G960 Transmission ?

Mine says...
722.906 06 479328A63; A63 FE torque converter housing-0, A64 FE converter 0 mm, A68 transmission housing with deep oil line, A87 valve body assembly with VGS 3, G906 transmission version 06. GA - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, 427 - AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sport transmission

I assume the 960 vs 906 is a typo, either mine or yours. Further, I bet the A68 and A87 codes you have that I don't represent the differences between your 4-matic and my standard RWD.

I cannot imagine different transmissions between these cars between 2013 vs 2016. Makes no production sense.

You have the regular TCT, not the AMG MCT. look at your list above..."Torque Converter", that says it all right there. I've never seen an MCT in anything other than a genuine AMG car. Your car has the "AMG Appearance Package" just like mine, but neither are AMGs...unfortunately...

Me either, no sense at all, why would they do that? Mine is 960 unless the typos are in two spots on my sheet. I am 3 years older and as you said 4magic.

PFFFT! I couldn't care less what someone does to their own car. I mean, I might not like it, but to each their own...

Hell, when I first got my car, I thought of doing that to mine so it said E55...but then thought it would be in poor taste and decided against it. So I debadged it instead.

Does anybody know what those final two numbers mean?

I had a 126 a few years back and you could even work out how much torque you could put through it using that data.

My understanding is they designate "TCT" or "MCT" And only the AMG's come with the "MCT"

Actually your Mechanic is wrong. Only the Sport with the AMG package has the Mercedes AMG Speed shift MCT 7 speed. Example if you own a 2012 C300 Sport 4matic with the AMG package then you would have that transmission, and if you wanted to spend the money you could add the steering wheels with the pads and they would work, but would not in any other C300.
