wagon auto-open with foot..

so I *still* haven't figured out how to relaibly get my 2016 e350 wagon with option 871 to reliably open the tailgate on a foot wave under the bumper. it does seem to be sensitive to a circular motion under the left side of the bumper rather than the middle.

I dug into WIS and EPC to try and understand how it works, there is a rear switch module that has two sensors plugged into it, all at the rear bumper, but I have not seen any diagrams showing where exactly the sensors are.

hmmm. a scan number my bumper

so that module around 0:10 seconds, is that the rear switch module that connects the two sensors ? huh.

No, that’s the valve body for airmatic, rear axle self leveling, EHNR.

There's a groove/channel molded into a panel under the bumper, it appears, which might route that "wire" antenna:
